Senior AI Engineer (Claude / MCP)

About the role

Launch Ventures is one of the first Anthropic partners, and AI engineering is now part of almost every product we build. You'll join the team that designs, evaluates and ships those systems: assistants that answer from a client's own data, agents that act across their CRM and ERP, and the guardrails that keep both honest.

This is a hands-on senior role. You'll own technical decisions on client engagements, pair with product engineers, and help shape how the whole company builds with AI.

What you'll do

• Design and build LLM features and agentic workflows on Claude, from prototype to production.
• Build MCP servers and tool integrations that connect models to client systems: databases, CRMs, ERPs and document stores.
• Own evaluation: golden sets, model-graded rubrics, regression suites in CI and production monitoring.
• Engineer retrieval: chunking, embeddings, hybrid search and grounding checks.
• Put guardrails, cost controls and observability in place before launch, not after.
• Work directly with client stakeholders to turn fuzzy goals into measurable outcomes.

What you'll bring

• 5+ years of software engineering, with at least 1–2 years shipping LLM-based features to real users.
• Strong Python or TypeScript, and solid API and backend fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with an LLM API (Claude preferred), prompt design, tool use and structured outputs.
• A habit of measuring: you know how to tell whether an AI feature is actually working.
• Clear written and spoken English, and comfort working with clients.

Nice to have

• Experience building MCP servers or multi-agent systems.
• Anthropic certification, or willingness to get it with us.
• Background in search, data engineering or ML ops.
